GCRI is launching a new series of videos on our YouTube channel to present core fundamentals of global catastrophic risk to wider audiences. This video serves to introduce our new channel.
As the video explains, recent events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine have threatened global catastrophe. There is no guarantee that global catastrophe will be avoided in the future, although with enough targeted effort, it may be possible to avoid it. There are important roles for everyone from world leaders to ordinary citizens. We hope this new video series will help more people get involved.
Regarding the role of ordinary citizens, see the recent GCRI commentary article Democratic Participation and Global Catastrophic Risk.
To get involved, see the GCRI Advising and Collaboration Program, in particular the 2025 Open Call for Advisees and Collaborators. Also consider subscribing to the monthly GCRI newsletter and making a donation. Please also subscribe to the GCRI YouTube channel and share our videos with other people who may be interested.
